Three exceptional individuals from the Port Management Office (PMO) of Surigao were acknowledged for their outstanding performance during the Annual Employee Awards Ceremony held on the occasion of the Philippine Ports Authority’s (PPA) 49th Anniversary Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the PPA Head Office in Manila.
The ceremony not only celebrated the accomplishments of the awardees but also showcased the vibrant talents of the PMO Surigao troupe in the ‘Tugsayawit’ (Tugtog, Sayaw, Awit) Competition, ultimately emerging as the Grand Winner.
The ensemble represented the Northern Mindanao Cluster of PMOs, which encompasses Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Agusan, and Surigao. Their participation in the competition came after a resounding victory in the Northern Mindanao elimination round held on June 30, 2023.
One of the recipients of the PPA 49th Anniversary Employee Awards was Engr. Lawrence Lyle E. Cagas, the Manager of PMO Surigao’s Engineering Services Division. Engr. Cagas was bestowed with the distinguished title of Division Manager of the Year, a testament to his exemplary leadership and exceptional contributions in the development of port infrastructure and maintenance of physical facilities.
Another awardee from the PMO Surigao team was Mr. Nole C. Nusog, who serves as the PMO’s Business Development/Marketing Officer. Mr. Nusog’s remarkable dedication and outstanding performance earned him the coveted title of PPA’s Employee of the Year. This recognition stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment, particularly in harnessing the benefits of Automatic Information System (AIS) technology.
In addition to these outstanding individuals, a special award known as the ‘Ginintuang Kagitingan Gantimpala’ was presented to Retired Navy Captain Primitivo Novo Jr., who served as PMO Surigao’s Harbor Master. This prestigious accolade serves to emphasize Novo’s unparalleled courage and outstanding contributions, particularly evident during the peak and aftermath of the formidable.
The recognition received by these three exceptional individuals serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and excellence exhibited by the Port Management Office of Surigao. Their achievements symbolize the commitment of the entire PMO Surigao team to upholding the highest standards of service.
