Surigao Del Norte’s Top 8 Most Wanted Faces Additional Charge

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City – The top 8 most wanted person in the list of Surigao del Norte (SDN) Police Provincial Office who was previously arrested during the conduct of Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 last Friday, May 14, is now facing an additional charge following the service of warrant of arrest for another crime yesterday, May 17, at the custodial facility of Surigao City Police Station (CPS) in Brgy. Taft, Surigao City.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., PRO13 Director, said that John Dave M. Guarte, 19 years old, a resident of Purok Phivolcs, Brgy. Washington, Surigao City was first arrested last May 14 in Brgy. Poblacion, Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte during the operation conducted by 1st SDN Provincial Mobile Force Company, Dapa Municipal Police Station and Surigao CPS based on the strength of Warrant of Arrest issued by RTC, Branch 32, Surigao City for frustrated murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 14437 dated July 29, 2019 with a recommended bail bond of ₱ 200,000.00.

Guarte, along with his two cohorts attacked and hacked the victim identified as Ricky D. Gemao last March 6, 2019, using an angular steel bar and sharp pointed instrument, locally known as “sundangay” hitting the victim’s head.

Yesterday, a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of robbery with force upon things issued by RTC, Branch 29, Surigao City, docketed under Criminal Case No. 14308, dated November 22, 2019 with ₱ 48,000.00 recommended bail bond was served to the suspect.

Based on the investigation of local police, Guarte was among the three suspects who robbed the rented room of Jerson F. Galotera in Brgy. Washington, Surigao City and stole his cellphone, power bank and cash money last April 24, 2019.

“There is no slowing down in our campaign against criminality in the region. PNP Caraga will continue to account all wanted persons in the region to ensure that no offender is freely roaming in the streets of Caraga posing threats to the people,” PBGEN.
