50 Individuals were arrested and 16 Loose Firearms were surrendered during the conduct of province-wide Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO), last Thursday, April 21.
Provincial Director Police Colonel Renato C Mercado in his report said that of the 50 persons arrested; 5 were Most Wanted Persons; 26 Other Wanted Persons; two for Loose Firearm through buy-bust operation, two on Illegal Drugs; 12 on Illegal fishing; and four on illegal Gambling.
The five Most Wanted Persons were composed of one Regional Level, three Provincial Level, and one Municipal Level.
On illegal Drugs operation, two operations were conducted with worth Php 12, 800.00 of suspected shabu were confiscated.
On illegal fishing operation, 58 kilograms of different fish species worth Php 9,850.00, and other fishing paraphernalia were confiscated.
On illegal gambling, a total of Php1,200.00 worth of bet money were confiscated.
“I commend our men for the accomplishment, especially on the Campaign Against Loose firearm, it plays a significant role for a peaceful upcoming Local and National elections. We will ensure that more illegal activities be curtailed for a safer Surigao Del Norte,” PD Mercado said.
