Police authorities of the 1st SDNPMFC, 2nd SDNPMFC, Sison, and Tubod Municipal Police Stations apprehended five individuals charged with illegal gambling in a separate operation last Tuesday, January 3.
Provincial Director Police Colonel Laudemer M Laude identified the suspects residing in Sison Surigao del Norte as Renan Badanoy Escolano, 37, and Randy Estobisa Giangan, 52.
The 1st SDNPMFC personnel and the Sison MPS arrested these two individuals for violation of PD 1602 (illegal cockfighting), locally known as “Tare-Tare,” yesterday at 3:20 PM in Purok-2, Brgy. Iman, Sison, SDN.
During the operation, the police operatives confiscated the bet money totaling Php635.00 in various denominations, two lifeless fighting cocks; and two pieces of gaff with paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, the province top cop identified these three suspects from Tubod town as Carmelito Quiban Moril, 69; Enrique Ranoco Yabut, 68; Antonio Adlao Ranoco, 62, at large.
A response to the call of concern from the citizens, the operation conducted by Tubod MPS resulted in the arrest of three individuals for illegal gambling cards, also known as “tong-its,” in Barangay San Isidro, Tubod SDN.
Playing cards and betting money in various denominations totaling Php525.00 were confiscated from the suspects.
“It is my directive to the troops to step up our efforts to apprehend lawbreaker individuals involved in any crime or illegal activity. I urge the community to continue its cooperation in eliminating these law violators. The men and women of SDN PNP assure you that we will work harder for a safer province to live in,” PD Laude said.
