In observance of Philippine Environment Month and World Environment Day, the Surigao City Environment & Natural Resources Office, led by Engr. Jose Alfonso A. Casurra, organized a simultaneous clean-up drive across the city, today, June 5, 2024.

Participants from 32 offices, including various departments of the City Government and National Line Agencies, joined the effort to clean streets and coastal areas.

The street clean-up resulted in the collection of 18 sacks of mixed waste. The coastal clean-up gathered 21 sacks of residual waste. Recyclable materials such as plastic bottles, tin cans, glass bottles, and bottle caps were also collected.

This initiative reflects Surigao City’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community involvement in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. (Mark James Lisondra)
