Surigao: City High and CV Diez dominated dance sport this year’s city division sports competition

The dancers of Surigao City National High School representing District 8 in the Junior Grade category dominated the most number of gold medals in the recently concluded Surigao City Athletic Association Division Sports Competition with 20 golds, 12 silvers and 7 bronze medals.

Caraga Regional Science High School representing District 3 won 8 golds and 6 silver medals while Saint Paul University Surigao (private school) got 2 bronze medals.

The dancers of C.V. Diez Memorial Central Elementary School representing District 4 also dominated the most number of gold medals in the juvenile category.

Surigao City High’s Princess Yllah Edillor and Nolan Custodio won gold medals in Chachacha, Rumba and Paso Doble of Junior Grade E Single Dance Latin. Jian Karl Japson and May Princess Placeros won gold medals in slow walts, tango, viennese walts, foxtrot and quickstep in Junior Grade E Single Dance Standard.

Dancers Jewel Misch Tomogbong and Jazz Ronan Ariar from Caraga Regional Science High School representing District 3 got most of the silver medals but won gold medals in Junior Grade E Single Dance Latin like samba and jive.

While in the Junior Grade C Latin, Jewel Misch Tomogbong and Jazz Ronan Ariar from Caraga Regional Science High School representing District 3 captured the gold medals in Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, and Jive.

Surigao City High’s Princess Yllah Edillor and Nolan Custodio won gold medals in Showdown C Cha cha cha, Rumba and Jive.

All gold and silver medals went to District 8 in Standard Slow Walts, Tango, and quickstep. Joseph Felomino Sabaldan and Joana Claire Agujar got gold in Slow Walts while Jian Karl Japson and May Princess Placeros captured the gold medals in Tango, and Quickstep. During the showdown, the latter pair captured the gold medal in Slow Walts, Tango and Quickstep.

In the Junior Grade A Latin, Jewel Misch Tomogbong amd Jazz Ronan Ariar captured the gold medals in Samba, Cha Cha Cha and Rumba. While Princess Yllah Edillor and Nolan Custodio got the gold medals in Paso Doble and Jive.

In the Standard, Jian Karl Japson and May Princess Placeros of District 8 won the gold medals in Slow Walts, Tango, Viennese Walts, Foxtrot and Quickstep.

Dancesport Juvenile/Elementary Grade Dancers Riahnna Gayle Bonostro and Charles Gregory Bandojo of C.V. Diez Memorial Central Elementary School representing District 4 got all gold medals in Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and Jive in Grade E Single Dance Latin. They got also gold medals in Grade C Latin Samba, Cha Cha Cha and Jive. Gold medals in showdown Samba, Cha cha cha and Jive and Grade A Latin Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. Mikhaela Godinez and MCeldie Pateres of same District won gold medals in Standard Slow Walts, Tango, Quickstep. Silver medals went to Bernard Linaga and Shanna Bracho of Surigao City Pilot School representing District 2.

District 4 in elementary represented by C.V. Diez Memorial Central Elementary School garnered 18 gold medals while Surigao City Pilot School representing District 2 got 14 silver medals. (RPN DXKS Surigao exclusive via MDAE)
