Surigao: Around 700 seedlings planted in Brgy. Cagniog

In celebration of World Environment Month, the City Government of Surigao through the City ENRO, joins the simultaneous Tree Planting activity at Brgy. Cagniog held today, June 16, 2023.

Santol, Rambutan, Lansones, Kaimito, Narra, Duyok-duyok, and Magkuno seedlings were planted in the area which will soon be developed as a forest park with view decks and a hanging bridge.

Present during the event were DENR 13 Executive Director For. Nonito Tamayo, Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XIII represented by Engr. Francis Glenn N. Suante, Surigao del Norte Provincial Government represented by Oscar Pospia, City ENRO represented by Leonardo Go, DENR-CENRO Tubod represented by Ruel Efren, DENR SDN Agapito Patubo and Caniog Barangay Captain Romelo Ortiz.

BFP Surigao City, PNP Surigao del Norte, PENRO SDN, BJMP, MGB Caraga, Special Training Unit 13 – PNP, Surigao City Police Station, PCG Surigao del Norte, DENR-CENRO Tubod, LGU Cagniog, Surigao City Guild of Environmentalist (SURGE), DOH Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center OPS/ACP Surigao City, Bar Camp Surigao, DENR EMB, and Marajaw Surigao Anglers also participated in the tree planting activity.

Mining companies Lascogon Mining Corporation, Adnama Mining Resources, Inc., Hinatuan Mining Corporation, Platinum Group Metals Corporation, and Silangan Mindanao Mining Corporation, Inc. also supported the activity and donated seedlings.
