Surigao: 4 most wanted in Caraga, collared

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – The unyielding pursuit of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 against wanted criminals in the region resulted to the arrest of four most wanted persons in the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur last Thursday, July 14.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR, PRO13 Director said that around 3:55PM in Sitio Sikat, Brgy. Lawan Lawan, Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte, Amba Atsal alias Datu Gulay a.k.a. Tomonog Binasalan Bilayong, 54 years old, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Agsabo, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur was arrested by personnel of 1st Agusan del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company together with the personnel of Las Nieves Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office.

Datu Gulay, listed as number 9 most wanted in Agusan del Norte, has a Warrant of Arrest for Attempted Murder under Criminal Case No. 7212 issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) 10th Judicial Region, Branch 7, Hall of Justice, Bayugan City dated May 11, 2022 with a recommended bail of Php120,000.00.

Suspect was one of the members of Guerilla Front 88 of the New People’s Army involved in an ambuscade of troops of 26th Infantry Battalion on May 2020 in Brgy. Guibonon, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur. Meanwhile, PNP personnel of Bislig City Police Station arrested Leonardo R. Orillo, 55 years old, a resident of Purok 2 San Nicholas, Brgy. San Roque, Bislig City along with his sons Bryan B. Orillo, 28 years old and a 16-year-old minor whose name is withheld.

The operation was based on the strength of Warrant of Arrest issued by RTC, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 29, Bislig City dated July 1, 2022 for the crime of Frustrated Homicide docketed under Criminal Case No. 2022-6-6587-B, with Php72,000.00 bail bond each.

The three are listed as most wanted persons in Bislig City and were involved in an altercation with their neighbor last February 6, 2022 that ended in the commission of the crime.

“PNP Caraga remains steadfast in our commitment to enforce the law and arrest those with standing warrants of arrest to ensure that our streets are free from the threats of people sought by the law,” RD CARAMAT JR stressed.
