The military successfully rescued Dr. Daniel Moreno Tuesday night in the hinterlands of Sulu after a brief encounter with the abductors, a military report said.
Dr. Moreno was rescued by elements of 112Mico 11MIB tuesday night at around 7:30, at barangay Bangalan, Indanan Sulu when troopers chanced with the group of Abu Sayyaf Sub Leader Mundi Sawadjaan.
The report claimed, a brief firefight ensued after which the lawless elements left their kidnap victim, Dr. Moreno.
The rescued kidnap victim was extricated from the encounter zone by a nearby troops of the Alpha company of the Philippine Army 41IB then transferred to a military ambulance.
Dr. Moreno, recalled was abducted by armed men clad in a military uniform early evening of February 4, 2020.11
The Doctor was immediately brought to Camp Bautista in Jolo, for medical check up prior to his unification with his family.
