Suicide incident transpired at Brgy. Poblacion, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay at 12:30 AM of January 1, 2021. The victim was identified as Dennis Lapera, 59 years old, married, government employee and a resident of Purok Bougainvella, Brgy. Poblacion, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay. The said victim was using a handgun Cal .45 and shot himself hitting on his chest.
Thereafter, the family member immediately brought him to Alicia District Hospital for medical treatment. Initial investigation disclosed that according to the family the said victim suffered serious mental depression due to his illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes resulted to his stroke leading him to shot himself using Cal .45, recovered from the place of incident one (1) unit Cal .45, 1911 w/o serial number one (1) magazine inserted containing five (5) live ammunitions and one (1) empty cartridge case. further, said victim sustained one (1) entry gunshot wound on his upper left chest portion and one (1) exit gunshot wound on his upper back left portion.
No foul plays found on the said incident.
Relatively evidence recovered at the place of occurrence will be properly turned over to provincial crime laboratory for ballistic examination and proper disposition.
