Stabbing incident occurred at Sitio Mala, Brgy. Bolong, Zamboanga City at 10:20 AM of December 31, 2020. The victim was identified as Elmer Enriquez y Rojas, 37 years old, single, resident of Mala, Brgy. Bolong, Zamboanga City, who was stabbed and wounded by suspect identified as a certain Eric Rivera, Legal age, married, also from Brgy. Bolong, Zamboanga City.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victim was doing an haircut session at the house of certain Arnel Dela Cruz when suspect surfaced and without hesitation stabbed the victim hitting on his left lower breast, victim was able to run outside the house to evade the suspect but suspect chased him and stabbed again hitting on his chest which resulted to his instantaneous death.
The suspect after the incident escaped towards the inner part of Brgy. Bolong.
Motive of the incident is jealousy. Zamboanga City Police Station 3 is now conducting follow up operation for the arrest of suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
