Stabbing incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay Golictop, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 9:30 PM of August 7, 2020, wherein victim identified as Jelvin Tormes Malada, 22 years old, single, farmer and resident of Purok 3, Barangay Golictop, Midsalip, Zamboanga Del Sur was stabbed by suspect identified as Lalang Bansal Landawon, 29 years old, married, farmer and the residence of the same place.
Investigation revealed that the suspect and victim were having a drinking spree and on their way home, the said suspect without apparent reason draw his hunting knife and successively stabbed the said victim hitting on the left portion of his back and right arm and was brought to Zamboanga Del Sur Medical Center, Dao, Pagadian City for medical treatment.
The suspect fled heading towards the remote forest of Barangay Gitalos, Midsalip. PNP personnel of Midsalip MPS conducted hot pursuit for the possible arrest of the suspect. Motive of the incident was believed to be personal grudge. (PCPT. Edwin A. Duco Chief, Public Information Officer)
