Stabbing incident occurred at Sitio Tumibang, Brgy. Mamawan, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte at about 8:00 PM of November 12, 2020, wherein victim identified as Julito Olandag Lomondaya, 38 yrs. old, farmer was stabbed to death suspect identified as Maximiano Damazon Dorias, 42 yrs. old, farmer and resident of abovementioned place with the use of knife. Victim sustained multiple stab wounds on the different parts of his body that caused his death.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim together with his live-in partner came to the house of the suspect for a drinking spree and while on their session, the victim took his air gun and fired in front of them. The live-in partner cautioned him; however, victim did not stop instead fired another shot. Suspect tried to pacify the victim, but he did not listen which resulted to a heated argument. At this juncture, the victim pointed the air gun to the suspect but the latter managed to swipe the barrel and took his knife that tucked on his waist and stabbed the victim several times that resulted to his untimely death.
Meanwhile, at about 9:00 AM of November 13, 2020, the suspect voluntary surrender to Brgy. Councilor Argie Y. Penaso of Brgy. Mamawan Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte. He is now in the custody of Gutalac Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
