Stabbing incident transpired at Sitio Campo Socoro, Brgy. Bunguiao Zamboanga City at 8:00 PM of December 30, 2020. The victim was identified as Edgardo Rebollios Ferrer, 53 years old, male, married, and a resident of Sitio Campo Socoro, Brgy. Bunguiao, Zamboanga City, who sustained lone stab wound on his right upper chest and was immediately rushed to Mindanao Central Sanitarium Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect identified as Joseph Lavacanacruz, legal age, male, married, and a resident of same place.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; the victim was on his way home from Brgy. Bunguiao Centro and upon reaching at the place of incident, a certain Eddie Ramos invited him to his residence for an occasion.
Meanwhile, the suspect was already at the said place and having a drinking spree together with other individuals. The suspect suddenly approached the victim while he was walking inside the house and without any provocation, the suspect stabbed the victim.
The suspect fled to the direction of Brgy. Upper Dulian, Zamboanga City after the incident. Motive of the incident believed to be of personal grudge.
PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 3 are conducting hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the fleeing suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
