Shooting incident transpired at Purok Sidlak, Brgy. Capisan, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 12:40 AM of November 25, 2020, wherein victims identified as Tolentino Sawaga Mamintas, male, 50 years old, farmer, married, and a resident of Purok Sidlak, Brgy. Capisan, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur; and Marlon Mamintas Suminggit, male, married, farmer, and a resident of Purok Mercury, Brgy. Capisan, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur, both barangay tanod of Brgy. Capisan, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; both victims were sitting at the bench inside the terrace of the house of certain Richard Mamintas of Purok Sidlak, Brgy. Capisan, Tabina, Zamboanga Del Sur when unidentified suspects shot the victims several times using caliber 9mm pistol and caliber .45 based on the recovered fired cartridge cases from the crime scene.

As a result, victim Tolentino Somuga Mamintas sustained gunshots wound on his head and chest, while victim Marlon Mamintas Suminggit sustained gunshot wound on his right leg and were brought to Tabina Regional Health Unit for medical treatment. The suspects immediately fled the scene after the incident going to National Highway of Pitogo, Zamboanga Del Sur onboard undetermined type of motorcycle.

Evidence recovered at the crime scene were one fired cartridge case of caliber .45 pistol, nine fired cartridge case of caliber 9mm pistol, and one fired bullet of caliber .45 pistol, while the motive of the incident is yet to be determined.
PNP personnel of Tabina Municipal Police Station (MPS) is still conducting investigation to possibly identify, locate, and arrest the fleeing suspects.
