Shooting incident transpired along Pulmones Street, Purok Rosas, San Pedro, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at about 5:50 PM of July 12, 2020. The victim was identified as Saturnino Cantilan Panugalon, 64 years old, male, married, businessman (agora public market) and a resident of Purok Talisay-A, Kawit, Pagadian City. Investigation disclosed that the victim bought a clay pot at Ansag Store at the aforementioned place of incident, when two (2) unidentified male persons wearing blue sweatshirt and denim (maong) long pants on board a color black Mio Yamaha single motorcycle and one of the suspects approached him from behind and shot him twice in close range hitting his lower occipital area and lumbar area as point of entry, and exited at his lower hypo gastric area.
After the incident the gunman carted away one (1) piece necklace (gold) of the victim worth twenty-five thousand (Php25,000.00) and one (1) piece bracelet (gold) worth twenty one thousand (Php21,000.00) and subsequently escaped heading towards Barangay Santiago to City Proper on board their Mio motorcycle as get-away vehicle. Recovered from the crime scene is one (1) spent shell of cal. 45. While the motive of the incident was believed to be robbery since the suspects forcibly took the jewelleries of the victim.
Investigator on case of Pagadian City Police Station is still conducting in-depth investigation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
Meanwhile, another shooting incident transpired at Barangay Mahayahay, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province at about 9:40 PM of July 12, 2020. The victim was identified as Felipe Yalon Pequiz, male, 34 years old, married, fish peddler, and a resident of Brgy. Mahayahay, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay Province. Investigation disclosed that victim was shot by two unidentified suspects. Victim sustained two gunshot wounds, one on his neck and exited at the right part of his jaw and one on the right side of his abdomen and was rushed to Olutanga Hospital for medication. Immediately thereafter, elements of Talusan MPS proceeded to the place of incident to conduct ocular investigation.
Investigation disclosed that witnesses heard three (3) gun burse and two unidentified suspects wearing mask and black jacket shot the victim. The unidentified perpetrators riding a single motorcycle bajaj, color black with no plate number. As a result, the victim sustained two (2) gunshot wounds.
Suspects immediately fled from the scene going to Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay Province direction. Recovered from the crime scene was one (1) piece of caliber .45 fired cartridges and one (1) piece slug. Further, personnel of Talusan MPS conducted dragnet operation for the possible identity and arrest of the suspects and same conducted in depth investigation to determine the motive of incident.
