Shooting incident transpired at Woodridge Hanging Bukid, Brgy. Lunzuran, Zamboanga City at 11:45 PM of December 10, 2020. The victim was identified as Dr. Chao-Tiao New Yumol, 36 years old, male, single, physician and a resident of Purok-1, Brgy. Lunzuran, Zamboanga City.
Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the said victim was driving his white Toyota Fortuner plate no. A10360 together with his three (3) passengers identified as Frank Rivero, Christine Francisco and Argentina Jasani and upon reaching the aforementioned place of incident, two (2) unidentified riding-in-tandem suspects onboard single motorcycle Honda XRM 125 color black wearing full face helmet with black jacket approached them and immediately shot the victim with no apparent reason.
Recovered from the place of incident were one empty shell and one slug of suspected Cal. 45 firearm.
Moreover, said victim did not sustain injuries due to the improvised bullet proof vest hanged beside him while suspects fled towards the location of bypass road of Brgy. Lunzuran, Zamboanga City after the commission of the crime.
Further, a thorough investigation is still being conducted by Zamboanga City Police Station 5 for the possible identification and immediate arrest of the suspects.
