Shooting incident transpired at Sitio Balatinaw, Brgy. Malian, Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte at 9:00 PM, December 29, 2020. Acted on said report, personnel of Gutalac Municipal Police Station (MPS) proceeded to the place incident in coordination with AFP/CAA detachment based at Brgy. Sas, Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim identified as Emol Manisig Camontol, 57 years old, male, married, and resident of Sitio Balatinaw, Brgy. Malian, Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte was coming from the masjid together with his second wife named Enang Aplasin Camontol.
After attended 6:00 PM prayer they went out and walked towards their residence, suspect appeared from a bushy area equipped with long firearm and shot the victim several times that resulted to his instantaneous death.
Suspect fled the scene after the incident. Cadaver of the victim was properly turn-over to his immediate family.
PNP personnel of Gutalac MPS conducted follow up investigation to determine the motive and possible arrest of the suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
