Shooting incident transpired at Purok Estrada, Brgy. Tupilac, RT Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay at 11:35 PM of November 30, 2020. The victim was identified as Amado Naranjo Cahilig, 70 years old, male, single, farmer, and a resident of Purok Lapu-Lapu, Brgy. Tupilac, RT Lim, who was shot by his nephew identified as Ruel Antiampo Cahilig, male, single, 28 years old, and a resident of abovementioned place.
Initial investigation conducted revealed that prior to the incident, the victim and the suspect were having a drinking spree and had a heated argument with each other. The suspect went home and came back armed with pistol and immediately open fire at the victim hitting him on his head and chest that resulted to his instantaneous death. After the incident the suspect ran and escaped toward the dark portion of said place.
Recovered items at the crime scene were two empty shell of caliber .45; hunting knife; one XRM 125, color blue, without plate number at the crime scene.
PNP personnel of RT Lim Municipal Police Station are now conducting hot pursuit operation for the arrest of the fleeing suspect. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
