Shooting incident transpired at Purok 2, Brgy. Cumarom, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur at about 9:50 PM of December 4, 2020. The victim was identified as Felix Malicay, 30 years old, male, married, farmer, and a resident of abovementioned place while suspect was identified as Vicente Sambulan Dag-Uman, 48 years old, married, farmer, and a resident of abovementioned place.
Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was about to arrive at his house coming from the fishpond of her mother located at Purok 2, Brgy. Cumarom, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur, when the aforementioned suspect allegedly armed with undetermined type of firearm suddenly approached and shot the victim without any apparent reason.
As a result, the victim sustained gunshot wound on his neck and was brought to Midsalip Infirmary Hospital for medical treatment, while the suspect fled to the bushy area of aforementioned barangay.
PNP personnel of Midsalip Municipal Police Station still conducting manhunt operation for the possible location and arrest the fleeing suspect, while the motive of the incident is yet to be determined.
