Citing the recommendation of the Senate medical services unit and the

Senate secretariat, the Senate on Tuesday declared a total lockdown due to Covid cases, the second in a week.

The lockdown will take effect until March 23.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, adjourned the session after reporting that the Covid cases in the Senate have risen to 24, including those who were recently infected in the Bills and Index division.

He expressed hope that the first employees in said Senate department who went into
quarantine will be able to report when the Senate reopens on March 24.

Meanwhile, Majority Leader Miguel Zubiri reported that the House of
Representatives has 28 active cases, while the Senate’s neighbor, the GSIS,
now has reportedly 80 Covid cases.
