San Roque Cockpit In Zambo Ordered Closed

Law enforcers from Police Station 7 in Sta. Maria, enforced a closure order on a cockpit in Talungon Drive, San Roque  afternoon of Sunday, February 28, 2021for flagrant violation of the provisions of Executive Order 624 – 2020 which sets protocols for the operation of cockpits in the city while under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Per authority from local IATF Chief Implementer Dr. Elmeir Apolinario, the law enforcers enforced the closure order and at the same time issued 27 notices of violation of the mayor’s executive order.

The action taken was based on a complaint relayed by Mayor Beng Climaco that was sent to her by a concerned citizen through a text message.

During inspection, the PS7 personnel led by PMaj. Albin Cabayacruz discovered more or less 80 individuals / bettors inside the cockpit arena, a clear violation of the protocol.

In another operation, PS7 personnel also collared 4 individuals  who were engaging in illegal cockfighting activities in Km7 Pasonanca Sunday afternoon.

On the other hand, PS9 personnel likewise apprehended 2 individuals during the conduct of anti-illegal gambling (cockfighting) operations in barangay Pamucutan this afternoon. (LGU Public Information Office)
