Residents in areas under enhanced community quarantine will receive cash aid from the government, Malacañang announced on Thursday.
“Nandyan na po ang assistance na sinabi ng Pangulo na kinakailangan ibigay kapag tayo po ay nag ECQ,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a briefing. “Ito po ay ₱ 1,000 kada tao or maximum na ₱ 4,000 kada pamilya.”
Roque said the funds are now being downloaded to recipient local government units, which are Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro and Gingoog City. These areas have been placed under hard lockdown until August 7.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development will distribute the cash aid through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
