Be informed that at about 5:00 PM of October 25, 2020, a concerned citizen called and informed Katipunan Municipal Police Station (MPS) that a vehicular traffic incident transpired along the National Highway of Purok 4, Brgy. Uno, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Immediately after receiving said report, PNP personnel of the said station composed of PMSg. Bernie C. Asentista, PSSg. Jason R. Habagat, PSSg. Ferdinand P. Romasasa and PSSg. Adrian Alinsangan were dispatched to the reported place of incident. Upon arrival thereat, the responding team were able to identify the Motor Vehicle involved as Mitsubishi STRADA GLS SPORT Bearing Plate No. SHZ983, driven by one FLORANTE POLINAR PALOMA, 44 years old, male, married, High School Level, JO of the Provincial Government of Zamboanga Del Norte – Driver and a resident of Brgy. Campo, Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental and Pedestrian, VICTOR ATO MARIANO, SR., 44 years old, male, married, driver and a resident of Brgy. Uno, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that while the MV driven by Florante Polinar Paloma was travelling from the Municipality of Godod, Zamboanga del Norte heading towards Dipolog City, upon reaching at the place of incident, said MV suddenly went out of control due to wet and slippery road condition and incidentally pivoted and swerved uncontrollably to the right side of the road and consequently slammed on above victim who happened to be walking along the side of the road on that moment.
The victim was immediately rushed to Zanorte Medical Center for treatment while the MV and its driver were placed under the custody of this office for proper disposition.
