Be informed that at about 9:20 PM of August 10, 2020, a concerned citizen reported to Polanco Municipal Police Station (MPS) that a stabbing incident transpired at Purok Masagana, Lingasad, Polanco, Zamboanga Del Norte (10 km away from Police Station with weak signal connection).
Acted on the said report, the responding team of Polanco MPS proceeded to the reported place to verify the veracity of the said report.
Initial investigation conducted disclosed that Roger Gonzales Benarao, 32 years old, male, married and his father Rogelio Mirafuentes Benarao, 61 years old, male, married both resident of Purok Masagana, Lingasad, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte were stabbed by Joseph Gonzales Benarao, 34 years old, married, Elem level, a resident of same place at around 9:00 PM outside the house of the victim (Rogelio).
The suspect is brother of victim Roger Benarao and son of another victim Rogelio Benarao. That prior the incident, they were having drinking spree at the house of the victim then heated argument ensued that resulted the suspect to stab both victims.
Victims sustained multiple stabbed wounds and immediately brought to ZANORTE Medical Hospital for medical treatment while the said suspect is now under Police custody of Polanco MPS pending filing of appropriate charges in court.
