On January 3, 2021 at about 5:45 PM, elements of Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) personnel of this police station under the supervision of PLTCOL CHRISTIAN L RAFOLS II conducted buy-bust operation at Purok Baybay Parola, Boulevard, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City which resulted in the arrest of CHRIS JAMES RAMIREZ COMPE aka Tararat, male, 19 years old, single, unemployed and a resident of Sitio Balibayon, Brgy. Rizal, Surigao City and his cohort TRUE NAME WITHHELD, male, 14 years old, grade 10 and a resident of Borromeo Street, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City. The subject person was informed of their Constitutional Rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Law upon their arrest. Both suspects were newly identified drug personalities of this Police Station.
Confiscated items from the possession and control of suspects were listed as follows;
- Two (2) plastic sachets of suspected dried marijuana fruiting tops bought by the poseur-buyer from the suspects with an estimated weight of more or less 3.5 grams with the street price value of Five Hundred Pesos (₱ 500.00);
- One (1) Genuine Five Hundred Peso bill (₱ 500.00) marked money;
- Cash money One Hundred Seventy Pesos (₱ 170.00);
- One (1) color Gold Vivo smartphone;
- One (1) white paper;
- One (1) white carton box;
- Four (4) plastic sachets of suspected dried marijuana Fruiting Tops with an estimated weight of more or less 6 grams with the street price value of One Thousand Pesos (₱ 1,000.00);
The body search was done in an orderly manner and duly witnessed by Kagawad Joselito Eviota of Brgy. Taft, Surigao City and a media representative.
Cases for violation of RA 9165 were being readied for filing in court against the mentioned suspects.
