Report On Campaign Against Illegal Fishing Along The Coastal Area Of Brgy. Miputak, Dipolog City

Be informed that at about 4:00 PM of October 28, 2020, a cellphone call a concerned citizen reported that there was a group of people fishing along the coastal area of Brgy. Miputak, Dipolog City using the prohibited fishing net. Immediately personnel of Dipolog City Police Station (CPS) led by PSSg. Eric Bahin – Team Leader together with City Agriculture Office personnel Mr. Rosario Taruc – Fish Warden  went to verify the veracity of the said report and they caught three person later identified as Richard D. Sumalpong, 38 y.o., married, fisherman, a resident of Brgy. Minaog, Dipolog City, Danny Ogoc, 20 y.o., single, fisherman and Kenneth Ombalino, 18 y.o., single, fisherman, both are resident of Brgy. Dicayas, Dipolog City caught in the act illegally fishing along the coastal area of Boulevard, Miputak, Dipolog City using prohibited fishing net [Baling] for violation of City Ordinance No.09-213 “Fishery Ordinance of Dipolog City”.

Said persons and confiscated illegal fishing gear were brought to Dipolog CPS for proper disposition and later transferred into custody of the City Agriculture Office for fines as stated in the Fishery Ordinance 09-213.
