The list of almost 60,000 beneficiaries of the government’s vaccination drive for the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is expected to be out by next week.

In an online briefing on Wednesday, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said they will finalize the said master list before Feb. 15, 2021, when the government is expected to start the deployment of its Covid-19 vaccines.

Aside from the recipients for the said vaccine, she said the list, which will be encoded in their Covid-19 electronic immunization registry (CEIR), will also contain the list of vaccination workforce.

Chief implementer of the government’s national policy on Covid-19 Carlito G. Galvez said the shipment of the initial batch of Covid-19 vaccine acquired by the government is expected to arrive by the middle of the month.

He noted the deployment will start two to three days after the arrival of the 117,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccines of Pfizer-BionTech through the Vaccines Global Access (Covax) facility.

“Since our doses [of Covid-19 vaccine] is limited, we can only accommodate more or less 58,500 nurses and doctors and medical personnel,” Galvez said.

The vaccine czar said they will prioritize inoculating the health care workers (HCW) in the four Covid-19 referral hospitals in Metro Manila: Philippine General Hospital (PGH), Lung Center, East Avenue and the Tala Hospital in Caloocan City,” Galvez said.

They will then proceed vaccinating the HCWs in other parts of the country particularly in areas with large number of infections like Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.
