Party-list groups that will be participating in the 2022 national and local polls could now register with the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In its resolution No. 10690, the poll body said new and existing party list organizations will only have until March  31, 2021 to submit their “Manifestation of Intent to Participate (MIP).”

Only party-list that have an MIP approved by Comelec, will be allowed to run in the next elections.

Those, who would like to stop a party-list from participating in the forthcoming polls, may file the necessary petition before Comelec.

“A verified petition seeking to deny due course to a manifestation of intent to participate, of both existing and registering party-list groups, organizations, or coalitions, may be filed with the COMELEC, by any interested parties within 10 days from the date of publication of the manifestation of intent to participate,” Comelec said.

Comelec will be announcing a separate deadline for party list to submit their nominees.

Before the 2019 polls, 182 party-list groups submitted their MIPs, but only 134 were allowed by Comelec to be included in final ballot of the said midterm elections.
