Province Of Surigao Del Norte Will Remain Under ECQ Until An Executive Order From Malacañang Will Be Issued

The Regional Inter Agency Task Force agreed yesterday to impose Regional Border Lockdown after the Enhanced Community Quarantine will be lifted.

Governor Francisco T. Matugas of Surigao del Norte in a live interview this morning in Radyo Ronda Balita over RPN DXKS, that despite the declaration that we will be under General Community Quarantine by May 1, One Caraga Shield Chairman Governor Dale Corvera said the border of Caraga Region will remain in lockdown. The task force is waiting for the executive order that will be issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea so that there will be a uniform guidelines.

Even if the 5 provinces in Caraga will be under GCQ, Butuan City Mayor Ronnie Vicente Lagnada recommended that the city shall remain under ECQ, awaiting for approval of the Interagency Task Force. This is because the city remains to be the epicenter of the confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region, with authorities still monitoring its development.

The DOTR under GCQ will allow partial operation of public transportation but with conditions.

Stranded OFWs and students in other places like Manila, Cebu ans Davao are requested to stay in their location as they will be given assistance by the local government unit through their relatives living in Caraga Region. Seafarers undergoing the 14 days quarantine will undergo the RT-PCR test before boarding the ship that will ferry them to the region. They will still undergo another 14 days quarantine before they will be allowed entry to their respective places.
