Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City –PBGEN. Jesus D Cambay, Jr, PRO9 Regional Director lauds the successful string anti-illegal drugs operation of the different police units in the region on July 25, 2020 which led in the confiscation of some ₱ 840,000 worth of shabu and the arrest of eight (8) drug personalities, two of them considered as high value target.
PBGEN. Cambay, Jr. identified the arrested drug personalities as Sharler Sauragal, Elina Asibun, Jayshar H. Tanadjalul, Sakul Ahiyal, Eronico Amias, Wilson Francisco, Wilfredo Espelita and Nasrin Kahal.
Sharler Sauragal, 32, male, considered as High Value Individual (HVI level 2 Database Watchlisted) and Elina Asibun, female, 34, were arrested by Zamboanga City Police Station 6 in Tapul Drive Mampang, Zamboanga City at 6:15 PM of July 25, 2020, after the sale of a pack of suspected Shabu worth ₱ 800,000.00 to police poseur buyer.
Jayshar H. Tanadjalul, legal age, CAFGU member, was arrested during checkpoint operation at Brgy. Cabunbata, Isabela City at about 2:30 PM of July 25, 2020. This after the Isabela City Police Station received an information that the subject will transport the illegal drugs on board single MC Suzuki rider 150 from Isabela City to Lantawan Municipality. Confiscated items were eight sachets of suspected shabu with estimated weight of three grams worth ₱ 20,000.00, 17 pieces cut aluminum foil and sling bag.
Sakul Isirani, 35, male, married, was arrested at Calle Punta, Brgy. Camino Nuevo, Zamboanga City at about 5:10 PM of July 25, 2020. Confiscated items during the operation were three sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱ 3,000.00 and marked money.
Eronico Amias, 47, male, was arrested at Brgy. Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City at about 9:00 PM of July 25, 2020. Confiscated items during the operation were six sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱ 2,000.00 and marked money.
Wilson Francisco, 27, ex-convict charge of violation of RA 9165, male, was arrested at Brgy. Recodo, Zamboanga City at about 9:50 PM of July 25, 2020. Confiscated items during the operation were three sachets of suspected shabu worth ₱ 1,700.00 and marked money.
Wilfredo Espelita, 19, laborer was arrested at Brgy. Lower Irasan, Roxas, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 11:10 PM of July 25, 2020. Confiscated items during the operation were five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated street value of ₱ 2,500.00 and one piece of ₱ 500.00 bill as marked money.
Nasrin Kahal, 19, was arrested by combined operatives at Barangay Poblacion, Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur at about 1:10 AM of July 26, 2020. Confiscated during the said operation were three pieces of suspected shabu worth ₱ 16,000.00, marked money and other drugs paraphernalia.
All arrested suspects are now facing charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“PRO9 has been consistent in its intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign despite the pandemic crisis, said PBGEN CAMBAY. “As we considered that drug addiction is a physical, mental and social illness, this perennial concern shall not be left to the detriment of our society and destroy the future of our youth”. He added.
