₱1,020,000.00 Worth of Shabu Seized in Mampang
Police personnel of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 together with Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted hot pursuit operation at the residence of the suspects Jonar Jul-Asri and Moner Jul-Asri who were involved in a shooting incident at Sta. Catalina on May 6, 2021. PNP personnel proceeded to their residence at Locson II, Barangay Mampang, Zamboanga City at 11:30 a.m. of May 6, 2021. Investigation disclosed that upon arrival at the residence of the suspects, Armida Jul-Asri, the mother of the two suspects, was anxious and upon asking her the whereabouts of his two (2) sons, Armida gave her sling bag to her daughter in-law Zarmida Rajan. The team asked her to open her sling bag and upon verification it contains sachets of suspected Shabu. Immediately, members of RDEU9 arrested the suspects and confiscated three (3) sachets of suspected Shabu with estimated value of ₱ 1,020,000.00 pesos with a weight of 150 grams. They are presently under the custody of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 for filling of appropriate charges in court.
Shooting Incident
A shooting incident transpired at the Sea Water of Barangay Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City at 3:15 p.m. of May 6, 2021. Victim was identified as Hajer L. Najurain, 24 years old, married, a resident of Omar Drive, Purok 7, Barangay Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City. The victim was not able to be located due to high tide and heavy water current. Investigation disclosed that at about 1:30 p.m. of May 6, 2021, the victim was harvesting his agar-agar at the sea water about 1 kilometer from the sea shore on board his “bangka”. Allegedly, Robino Albani y Juhan and companion, on board a motorized pump boat suddenly fired upon the victim with the use of unknown caliber of firearm, causing the victim to fall into the sea water. After which, the suspects fled to unknown direction. Zamboanga City Police Station 6 is still conducting follow up operation for the arrest of the suspect/s.
Men Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Kasanyangan
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted anti-illegal drugs operation at Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City at 12:40 a.m. of May 7, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Lim Pawaki y Asanur a.k.a. “Lim”, 40 years old, male, married, jobless, elementary level; Aisal Abubakar y Nakilam, 32 years old, male, single, jobless, high school graduate; and Mersalyn Pawaki y Abubakar, 38 years old, female, jobless, married, high school graduate, all are residents of Block 4, Phase 2, Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City. Recovered during the operation were six (6) heat sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected Shabu with an estimated value of ₱ 34, 000.00 weighing 5 grams, one (1) coin purse and three (3) pieces of ₱ 100.00 bills as marked money. They are now under the custody of the said police station in preparation of filing of appropriate charges in court. All recovered items will be brought to Zamboanga City Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Hacking Incident
A hacking incident transpired at Barangay Catipan, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 3:00 p.m. of May 5, 2021. Victim was identified as Silverio Ewayan Merontos, 33 years old, male, married, farmer and a resident of Barangay Catipan, Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay while suspect was identified as Julito Bitoca Sagadsad, 61 years old, male, married, jobless and a resident of the same place. Initial investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim together with his wife were inside their house, when the suspect suddenly barged in and hacked the victim several times hitting on different parts of his body. Victim was rushed to Olutanga Municipal Hospital for medical attention, while the suspect fled after committing the crime. Police personnel of Mabuhay Municipal Police Station are now conducting thorough investigation prior filling of case against the victim.
Rape Suspect Arrested in Siocon
Joint elements of Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch, Sulu Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch, Regional Intelligence Unit 9, Titay Municipal Police Station and Zamboanga Sibugay 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted joint intel driven manhunt operation at Sitio Quarry, Barangay Candiz, Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte at 7:20 p.m. of May 6, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Fermin Dela Cruz, 29 years old, married, resident of Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Poblacion, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay. The arrest was made by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Rape docketed under Criminal Case No. i-5421-23, issued by Hon. Anthony D.T Isaw, Presiding Judge RTC, Branch 24, 9th Judicial Region, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay dated April 7, 2021. He is now under the custody of Titay Municipal Police Station for temporary detention.
Fisherman Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Ipil
Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of Ipil Municipal Police Station (MPS) conducted drug buy-bust operation at Purok Acacia, Barangay Buluan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at 8:40 p.m. of May 6, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Ricardo Tomocon Pene Jr, 42 years old, high school graduate, single, fisherman, resident of Purok Acacia, Barangay Buluan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Confiscated during the operation were: four (4) small sachets of suspected Shabu with estimated weight of 0.392 grams and with estimated value of ₱ 1,523.20, one (1) piece of paper, and one (1) piece ₱ 500.00 bill as marked money. Arrested person was brought to Ipil MPS for temporary detention while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to provincial crime laboratory for examination. A case for violation of R.A. 9165 is being prepared against the suspect.
Stabbing Incident
A stabbing incident transpired at Purok 3, Barangay. La Victoria, La Libertad, Zamboanga Del Norte at 7:30 a.m. of May 6, 2021. Victim was identified as Dione Bato, 31 years old, Barangay Tanod and a resident of Purok 3, Barangay. La Victoria, La Libertad, Zamboanga del Norte while suspect was identified as Jerry Bato, 38 years old, married, farmer, also a resident of the said place. Initial investigation disclosed that at about 8:30 p.m. of May 5, 2021, the victim and the suspect were having a drinking spree at the store of Maricel Villacura when a heated argument ensued. At about 9:00 p.m. of the same date, the victim and the suspect went to the house of Dodo Guiritan, a former Barangay Captain of said barangay. Thereat, both suspect and victim had a fistfight that triggered the suspect to pull a hunting knife and stab the victim. He was forwarded to Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital, for treatment. Suspect is now under the custody of La Libertad Municipal Police Station pending filing of appropriate charges in court.
