Farmer Beheaded in Guipos

A beheading incident transpired at Purok 1, Barangay Lintum, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur at 3:05 AM of July 11, 2021. Victim was identified as Simplicio Espanio Lendio 56 years old, widower, farmer, resident of Purok 1, Barangay Lintum, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur, he was allegedly beheaded by his cousin Mario Campaña Lendio, 43 years old, single, farmer and a resident of the same place. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim together with his other cousin Federico Gemina Lendio, 43 years old, single, farmer and a resident of Barangay Linienza, Pagadian City were having a drinking session when the suspect arrived and joined them. Accordingly, after consuming one (1) bottle of Tanduay, the victim and the suspect had a heated argument regarding past grudges. Witness revealed that the victim challenged the suspect into a fist fight then the suspect put on his wooden knuckle and boxed the victim. After the victim fell on to the ground and lost consciousness, the suspect then hit the victim with a rock. Afterwards, the suspect went to his house and took a scythe and beheaded the victim. The suspect who was positively identified and pinpointed by witnesses was successfully arrested in a hot pursuit operation at Purok 1, Barangay Lintum, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur. He was brought to Guipos Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Fire Incident

A fire incident transpired at Purok 1, Brgy. Monching, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 4:00 AM of July 11, 2021 involving four (4) houses owned by Lolita Behex, Teresita Jemenez, Gemma Quirante and Elizabeth Basco, all of legal ages and residents of the said place. Initial investigation disclosed that the fire originated at the house owned by Lolita Behex, her house had a sari-sari store where gasoline were sold. According to Danny Behex, they were awake when the fire already blazed and burned their store. Fire quickly escalated into the whole house because of the stacked gasoline and burned another three (3) houses. Further, during the incident, Lolita Behex and Danny Behex who were inside their house sustained first degree burns and were rushed to Kabasalan Pathfinder Hospital for medical attention. Personnel of BFP contained the fire and declared fire out at 5:30 AM of same date with a total estimated cost of damage amounting two hundred thousand pesos (₱ 200,000.00).

Member of Drug Group in Ipil, Arrested

Joint elements of Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit together with personnel Ipil Municipal Police Station conducted drug buy-bust operation at Purok African Daisy, Brgy Pangi, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at 8:15 PM of July 10, 2021 that resulted in the arrest of Yhosry Cadil Aladja a.k.a. “Dash”, 21 years old, male, single, laborer, grade 12 student, a member of Gingging Calon Drug Group and a resident of Purok Sampaguita, Brgy. Tenan, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Recovered and confiscated from his possession were one (1) piece small heat-sealed transparent sachet of suspected Shabu (buy-bust item) and nine (9) pieces small heat sealed transparent sachet of suspected Shabu (possession), with a total estimated weight of 1.075 grams and a standard drug price of ₱ 7, 310.00, one (1) coin purse, one (1) unit black/white Honda XRM and one (1) piece of ₱ 500.00 bill (marked money). Arrested person and confiscated items were brought to Ipil Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. A case for violation of R.A. 9165 is being prepared against the suspect.

Farmer Arrested in Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Tiguma

Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Pagadian City Police Station (Lead Unit) together with 1st Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 and Labangan Municipal Police Station conducted illegal drug buy-bust operation at Zone II, Barangay Tiguma, Pagadian City at 11:45 PM of July 10, 2021 which resulted in the arrest of Jeacan Magno, 28 years old, farmer and a resident of Purok Telibong, Barangay Lindongan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur. Confiscated during the operation were one (1) piece of small size heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed  to be a methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “Shabu” as a buy-bust evidence; six (6) pieces small size heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be a methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as “Shabu” (possession); and two (2) pieces of ₱ 500.00 bill (marked money). Recovered suspected Shabu has an estimated weight of 1.35 grams with a standard drug price of ₱ 9,180.00. All confiscated drug evidence was turned–over to Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for qualitative and quantitative examination. Suspect is now temporarily under the custody of Pagadian City Police Station for booking and proper disposition while a case for Violation of Section 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 is being prepared.
