PNP9 In Zamboanga To Establish Backyard Garden Inside Camp

Region 9 – PNP9 through PEMS Noel B. Linao, RESPO confirms their intention to establish Backyard Garden of various vegetables inside the PNP IX office at Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City.

Vegetables seeds like okra, eggplant, squash, bitter gourd, mustard, sponge gourd, tomato and pechay, are among what the DA turned over to Ms. Rowena Lozano, by DA9 Agricultural Program Coordinator for ZC, Arnulfo Estrada and HVCDP report officer Albert Cuadra.

According to Linao, the establishment of the vegetable garden inside the camp is one way to support the PNP members and its communities to consume healthy food.

“The primary purpose of the vegetable garden will be for the consumption of vegetables our frontliner personnel during this pandemic,” Linao mentioned.

APCO Estrada on the other hand expressed appreciation for the police force in the initiative of requesting for seeds assistance for the establishment of the vegetables “backyard garden.”

“DA supports the PNP9 and we hope that with the seeds we provided, they will be successful in their project. We really hope that they will sustain the garden once they have established it. We also take this opportunity to thank them for all their services during this pandemic,” said Estrada.

The DA9 in support to the call of Agriculture Secretary William Dar continues to advocate for the PLANT PLANT PLANT Program to increase production of safe and healthy food for all.
