Andanar welcomed and acknowledged the media workers in the province of Surigao del Sur participating in today’s press conference at the Sison Women’s Center, a pre-activity for the “Explain, Explain, Explain: Pagdu-aw sa Surigao del Norte.” He thanked the cooperation of the province’s hardworking media workers in all of the government’s efforts, particularly in the COVID-19 vaccination program. “We need as many influencers who will support the government’s vaccination program and subject themselves willingly to be inoculated for COVID-19,” the secretary said.
He assured the media partners who are present during today’s Media Engagement in Sison, Surigao del Norte that they will be included in the vaccination program if they will signify their interest to be part of it.
Andanar visits the local government unit of Sison in Surigao del Norte for the “Explain, Explain, Explain: Pagdu-aw sa Surigao del Norte,” along with PIA Director-General Ramon Cualoping III, DSWD Spokesperson Dir. Irene Dumlao, DOH-13 Regional Director Dr. Jose Llacuna, Jr., Surigao del Norte provincial office head of DA, and local government officials of the municipality. Today’s activity will consist of engagements with local municipal leaders down to the barangay level to educate the locals on the government’s actions to successfully implement its national COVID-19 program.
He emphasized the need to be vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to “save yourself from COVID-19.” “The vaccine will help us have immunity from the disease thus stopping the transmission of the disease. In this way, not only are we saving ourselves, we are also saving everyone around us.” The communications added that the government understands the people’s hesitation to be vaccinated but he clarified that only safe and effective vaccines will be given to the public.
