Seventeen students from Zamboanga del Sur have been selected to study engineering-related courses at Kun Shan University in Taiwan, after qualifying for the university’s scholarship program. Chosen from over 75 applicants, these students stood out for their academic and leadership potential.
On October 8, 2024, Governor Victor J. Yu personally handed each scholar a P50,000 allowance from the Provincial Government to help with travel and accommodation expenses. The program also provides work opportunities for the students while they study.
Gov. Yu expressed his pride and support for the students, saying, “These young scholars will represent Zamboanga del Sur with pride. We wish them all the best in their academic journey in Taiwan and look forward to seeing them return with the knowledge and skills to contribute to our province.”
The scholars are set to fly to Taiwan later this month to begin their studies.
