BACOLOD City – As local government units start to ease travel restrictions due to continuing improvement in the fight against COVID-19, the provincial government is now studying the possibility of allowing more flights between Manila and Bacolod.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed Monday that Cebu Pacific asked to increase its Manila-Bacolod-Manila flights.
At present, flights between Manila and the Bacolod-Silay Airport are limited to two trips per airline company per day, while flights between Mactan-Cebu and Bacolod-Silay Airport is one per airline per week.
“We will study that. And if it further improves, we will consider that,” Lacson said, apparently referring to the steady decline in COVID-19 active cases.
But Lacson said he cannot confirm yet if the Philippine Air Lines and Air Asia also filed similar requests for additional flights. (Dolly Yasa via tdg, photo by tdg)
