Ang Communist Party of the Philippines- New People’s Army Terrorists (CNTs) milapas sa ilang gideklarang ceasefire samtang nanghasi ug mihimo sa extortion sa katawhan sa Barangay Cuyago, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte ug giatake pa ang community security patrol sa 29th Infantry “Matatag” Battalion sa 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division, Philippine Army kinsa miresponde sa sumbong nga extortion mga 11:20 sa buntag niadtong April 13, 2020.
Ang inisyal nga engkwentro milungtas sa 5 minutos dajon laing 15 minutos na sab nga pinusilay sa banabang 18 ka NPA sakop sa Samahang Yunit Pampropaganda-16A (SYP16A), Guerilla Front-16 (GF16), North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) nga gipangulohan ni Samuel Batikan a.k.a. “Albren.”

Ang kagamhanan nagdeklarar na sa unilateral ceasefire gikan niadtong March 19, 2020 hangtud April 15, 2020 ug gitahasan ang militar sa pagtabang sa mobilization sa pakigbatok sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Samtang ang Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) magmando sa ilang armed wing, ang New People’s Army (NPA), nga mopatuman usab sa unilateral ceasefire gikan March 26, 2020 hangtud April 15, 2020 samtang ang atong nasud nakigbatok sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Sa mensahe ni Army Major General Franco Nemesio Gacal, Commander sa 4ID nagkanayon, “We will always perform our mandate to protect the people even when we are focused in our efforts to mitigate the impacts of this COVID-19 pandemic. I commend the people of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte for standing up against this “communist virus” plaguing our community and for seeking the assistance of your soldiers to end their (NPAs) abuse and threats.”
“We urge everyone to remain vigilant against the treacherous actions of the CNTs. Despite the call for solidarity in addressing a common enemy, COVID-19, the CNTs remain a threat to our communities.
