Bacolod City – Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez expressed his full support to the Bacolod City Police Office in its efforts to achieve Type A City Police Office status.
This was after the BCPO, under the leadership of P/Col. Joeresty Coronica, expressed its desire to increase the number of police stations in strategic areas of Bacolod City.
Once approved, Bacolod will join Cebu, Davao, GenSan, and Zamboanga as one of only five cities in the country with such a designation, according to Benitez.
This upgrade will allow us to expand from 10 to up to 20 clustered police stations, with initial plans to establish 5 new police stations in barangays of Banago, Estefania, Vista Alegre, Cabug and Singcang-Airport, he added.
That will enhance our ability to ensure the safety and security of every Bacolodnon, Benitez further said. (Gilbert Bayoran via The Visayan Daily Star)
