Davao City – Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has reiterated her reminder for all Dabawenyos to strictly follow health measures even with the vaccination, a decline in Covid-19 cases, and the changing barangay classifications.

Mayor Sara said the coronavirus is still affecting people and Dabawenyos must not be complacent and must continue to wear masks and face shields, social distancing, and frequent handwashing.

This as Davao City’s Barangay Risk Assessment Classification shows there is no barangay in the city under “Critical Risk” and “High Risk” areas for the period from April 26 to May 1, 2021.

“Ang positivity rate man ang mag measure ana. So sa positivity rate, pasulod ta didto sa kanang dili delikado nga rate but dili man gud sya buot nagsabot nga wala nay COVID -19, it only means nga naga hinay ang takdanay sa COVID-19 nato diri sa atong syudad so dili ta dapat maging complacent nga wala tay barangay nga wala sa critical risk because it is still a pandemic,” she said.

The recent risk assessment classification lists 12 barangays as moderate risk barangays: 3-A, 19-B, A. Angliongto, Sr., Baliok (Talomo), Lapu-Lapu (Agdao), Lasang, Lizada (Toril), Sasa, Sto. Niño (Tugbok), Tacunan, Tugbok Proper and Wilfredo Aquino (Agdao).

Last week, Davao City records a two-week growth rate (2WGR) of 15.65 and an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 1.39. As of April 24, Davao City is classified as a low-risk LGU based on the LGU risk classification with 2WGR of -28.18 and an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 1.02.

Dr. Ashley Lopez, the head of the City Health Office (CHO) and Focal Person of the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force said that Davao City has an Average Positivity Rate of 2.31 per cent from April 11-24, 2021 or an average of less than 40 cases per day, lower than the 5 per cent positivity threshold of the World Health Organization.

“Marami tayong testing, mababa yung positivity rate natin, ito na yung tinatawag natin na ideal positivity rate. (We have a lot of testing; we have a low positivity rate. This is the ideal positivity rate),” he said.

Lopez said the city will still conduct 1,000 tests per day through heightened surveillance and intensified contact tracing. The city is currently conducting surveillance swabbing to public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers at the Crocodile Park until May 8, 2021.
