A man was shot to death at Purok 6, Jose Abad Santos Street, Brgy Quirino District, Padada, Davao del Sur in the evening. Victim was identified as Richard Cenit Petalcorin, 62 years old, married, tailor/real estate broker and a resident of the said place. Initial investigation conducted by the local police that the unidentified person was medium in built and more or less 5”2 in height.
The victim was standing inside the vicinity of their house when suddenly a lone gunman shot the victim hitting in different parts of his body. Upon seeing the incident Arquel Saligan Matignao, victim’s son in law runs away going at the back of their house.
Thereafter, the assailant/s fled away on foot going to unknown direction while the victim was rushed to Baron-Yee Hospital, Brgy Almendras District, Padada Davao del Sur by his son in law for medical treatment. But at around 6:29 pm of same date, victim was declared dead by the attending physician Dr. Richard Yee.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body that caused his untimely death. Recovered from the crime scene were five (5) pcs of fired cartridge case believed to be from caliber .45 pistol which will be subjected for laboratory examination and to be brought to Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Digos City.
Intel operatives are conducting follow up investigation/operation for possible apprehension of the suspect. Motive of the incident is yet to be determined.
