Mahinungdanong papel sa mga senior citizens sa katilingban giila sa Elderly Filipino Week

Cagayan de Oro – Around a thousand senior citizens of Cagayan de Oro attended the ‘Elderly Filipino Week’ celebration at the Atrium, Limketkai mall yesterday, November 9 this year.

The event was promoted by the local government of the city through the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) and City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) in recognition of the important role of senior citizens in society.
Joining the celebration was City Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba who represented Mayor Rolando ‘Klare’ Uy.

For her part, City Councilor Yevonna Yacine B. Emano, chair of the Committee on Senior Citizens, also discussed the recently concluded budget hearing as well as the priority programs for senior citizens in the city.
Commissioner Atty is also proud to have attended from the capital. Franklin M. Quijano of the National Commission on Senior Citizens who focused on the laws and privileges of senior citizens, as well as their contribution to the development of the community.

There is also the presence of those who support the program of senior citizens in the city, Ms. Anecia C. Tiongson, acting CSWD officer; Mrs. Joan Mae Acraman, supervising social worker on senior citizens; and Ms. Coleen Ancajas-Chaves, senior citizen focal person.
