The barangay captain was subjected to a buy bust/entrapment operation allegedly for violation of RA 10591 and RA 9516 that resulted to armed c0nflict.
The incident happened at Purok Million, Amat st.,
Brgy. Taft, Surigao City around 1:00PM, February 20, 2020.
Intel personnel of Surigao City Police Station conducted buy bust/entrapment operation against above-named suspect however, suspects were able to sense that they have transacted with the police authorities thus, suspect fired upon towards the operatives and the latter retalliated to defend themselves and that suspect fell to the ground. Thereafter, medics and SOCO Team were then requested to check the wounded persons and to process the crime screne.
Aquino sustained gunshot wound in his chest. SOCO recovered from the crime scene a firearm, hand grenade, sling bag, and cash.
