Kidapawan Drug Suspect Nabbed, ₱20-K Shabu Seized

COTABATO CITY –  A police raid early Monday on a house of a drug suspect in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, led to the seizure of some ₱ 20,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Lt. Colonel Ramel Hojilla, Kidapawan police chief, identified the arrested suspect as Kevvin Leo Ochavo Vasquez, 21, of Barangay Poblacion, Kidapawan City.

Armed with a search warrant issued by a regional court, Hojilla said the police raiding team swooped down on the house of the suspect around 4:30 AM.

“The suspect did not resist arrest because the policemen have surrounded his house,” Hojilla said, adding Vasquez had been under police surveillance for a month before Sunday’s anti-drug operation.

Seized from the suspect were five sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱ 20,000, and drug paraphernalia.

Charges for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were readied against the suspect now detained at the Kidapawan police custodial facility, police said.
