Joint Police Op Nabs 2 Brothers Wanted For Murder In Leyte

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – Combined police units captured two brothers who had standing warrant of arrest for murder in the province of Leyte following the law enforcement operation in Brgy. Poblacion, Lingig, Surigao del Sur yesterday, May 19.

Police Regional Office (PRO)13 Director PBGEN ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR. announced the apprehension of Allan P. Muñez, 49 years old, and Saturnino P. Muñez, 62 years old, both native of Brgy. Butason II, Tabango, Leyte.

Lingig Municipal Police Station (MPS), Tabango MPS, Leyte Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Unit 8, and Northern Leyte Maritime Police Station launched the operation around 4:30 AM.

The Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Palompon, Leyte issued the warrant of arrest under criminal case no. P-1473 on April 27, 2009 without recommended bailbond.

Based on investigation, the suspects were tagged in stabbing incident that claimed the life of Allan Montane in Campokpok, Tabangon, Leyte on May 30, 2006. To elude arrest, they went into hiding in Sitio Cab-ilan, Brgy. Poblacion, Lingig town.

“After hiding for almost 15years, our police operatives were able to trace their whereabouts. This success shall serve as stern warning to all wanted persons that they can never hide from the long arm of the law forever because we will eventually arrest them,” the PRO13 top cop added. (PMaj.
