Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso laughed off rumors that he is a “secret candidate” of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Domagoso dismissed the rumors in a media interview after leading the oath-taking of nearly 50 local officials and candidates with Aksyon Demokratiko on Friday.
The Presidential candidate reiterated that he is running under Aksyon Demokratiko, where he currently serves as party president.
“Kami ay kandidato ng Aksyon Demokratiko na nag-apply sa tao, bilang inyong Pangulo, ang inyong lingkod, at bilang Pangalawang Pangulo, at sampu sa aming mga kasamahang Senador, at mga Konsehal, Governor, Congressman, Vice Mayor, Mayor at mga Board Member,” he said.
Domagoso said those peddling these rumors against him are likely “high on drugs.” “Hindi po totoo yon. Ito naman, malayang bansa. Kala ko ba bawal ang drugs. Ano kaya tinira ‘non?” Moreno said.
The 46-year old celebrity mayor and his running mate Dr. Willie Ong are set to file their Certificate of Candidacy on October 4.
