THE Taguig Generals square off with fellow unbeaten Quezon Barons in the Chooks-to-Go National Basketball League (NBL) Chairman’s Cup 2021 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The Generals and Barons are tied for second place with a 3-0 record, only behind league-leading La Union PAOwer (4-0), entering their contest at 6 p.m. to be aired live on Solar Sports and on Facebook and YouTube via NBL-Pilipinas.
Taguig enters the match-up with two straight victories—over Stan Spartan 4th District, 70-55, and Laguna Pistons, 79-75.
The Pampanga Delta go up against Stan Spartan 4th District at 4 p.m. Bulacan (4-1) and Paranaque (1-1) also take the floor at 1:15 p.m.
On Sunday, it will be Quezon against Bulacan, Muntinlupa against Taguig and Paranaque against Pampanga in another tripleheader of the league being conducted under strict health and safety protocols.
The Stan Quezon Lady SparTAN, meanwhile, will try to get a win as they play two games this weekend in the Pia Cayetano Women’s NBL Season 2021 also at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
The SparTAN battle the Taguig Lady Generals on Saturday at 11:15 a.m. and will play the Pacific Water Queens also at 11: 15 a.m. on Sunday.
The Lady SparTAN went down to 0-2 won-lost after their 75-60 setback to the Glutagence Glow Boosters last July 24.
