The City Government of Iriga, through the City Health Office and in partnership with the Bicol Medical Center – Bicol Science and Transfusion Services, successfully conducted the 2nd Round LGU Wide Mobile Blood Donation Drive on December 3, 2025 at the Iriga City Sports Center in Sta. Cruz Sur. The activity drew strong support from various sectors, reflecting the community’s shared commitment to saving lives and strengthening public health services.
The city-led initiative provided a safe and accessible venue for voluntary blood donors. The turnout demonstrated the dedication of Irigueños and partner institutions to ensuring that sufficient and readily available blood supply is maintained for medical emergencies and life saving procedures.
A diverse pool of volunteer donors took part in the drive, including employees of the City Government of Iriga, personnel from the 9th Civil Military Operations Battalion of the Philippine Army based in Camp Ola, Legazpi City and the Alpha Company 502, Community Defense Center, 5th RCDG, Reserve Command. Student reservists from USANT Army ROTC, UNEP Army ROTC and Holy Trinity College Bato Army ROTC also supported the effort. National government agencies such as the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, along with members of the media, local businesses and barangay representatives, likewise contributed to the success of the event.
The activity also featured the PhilHealth YAKAP program, which offered on site assistance and health information services to donors and community members, further strengthening the support provided during the activity.
The second round of the city’s LGU wide blood donation drive highlights Iriga’s commitment to building a culture of volunteerism and collective responsibility. Through initiatives like this, the City Government of Iriga continues to promote accessible health programs, enhance emergency preparedness and foster partnerships that safeguard the well being of every Irigueño.
