Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – In preparation for the observance of All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day on November 1 and 2, 2024, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO5) headed by PBGEN ANDRE P DIZON, RD is implementing heightened security measures to ensure the safety and security of the public during these significant holidays.
To bolster police presence during this period, PRO5 will deploy additional personnel to key locations, including malls, public transportation hubs, cemeteries, churches, and other high-density areas where people gather to honor their departed loved ones. This initiative aims to deter potential criminal activities and provide peace of mind to the community.
As part of these enhanced security measures, PRO5 will also conduct checkpoints at strategic points throughout the region. These checkpoints will be staffed by trained personnel to further enhance public safety and deter criminal elements.
In addition to increased police visibility and checkpoints, PRO5 will establish Police Assistance Desks (PADs) and Motorist Assistance Centers (MAC) to assist the public and travelers with their concerns.
Moreover, the PNP Bicol shall intensify its operations against criminal elements to preempt any attempts to exploit the holiday.
“Our commitment to maintaining public safety remains steadfast, and we encourage everyone to report any suspicious activities”, said RD DIZON.
To further enhance public awareness, PRO5 will leverage social media platforms to remind the community to remain vigilant and secure themselves against potential criminal threats.
“We urge the public to be proactive to safeguard their belongings and to report any unusual behavior. As we commemorate these solemn occasions, rest assured that your KASUROG cops are dedicated to preserving the sanctity of these activities, allowing our kababayans to remember and honor their loved ones peacefully”, he added.
