In a press briefing, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Atty. Benhur Abalos Jr., alongside Chief PNP POLICE GENERAL ROMMEL FRANCISCO D MARBIL and other key officials, addressed concerns regarding a viral video circulating online that purportedly shows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Secretary Abalos refuted the authenticity of the video, stating that the individual depicted does not bear resemblance to President Marcos. He cautioned the public against falling for deceptive online content and urged them to exercise discernment when consuming information.
A PNP-led Task Force will be established to investigate the origins and dissemination of the video. Secretary Abalos condemned it as a deliberate and malicious attempt to tarnish the President’s reputation. He underscored the potential violations of the Anti-Cybercrime Law and assured that those responsible would be held accountable.
The PNP encourages the public to critically assess online material and rely on official sources for accurate and verified information.
